Two teens shot in Schertz neighborhood; police search for suspect vehicles

SCHERTZ — Two 17-year-old males were hospitalized after a shooting early Wednesday in a Schertz neighborhood, the Schertz Police Department said.

Officers responded to the 2100 block of Red Bud Way around 12:18 a.m. March 4 after receiving reports of a shooting. They found both victims with gunshot wounds and provided first aid until Schertz EMS arrived, according to the department.

Both teens were taken to Brooke Army Medical Center. One is in stable condition. The other is in serious condition, police said. Next of kin for both victims have been notified.

Police said two vehicles were involved: a mid-size white four-door sedan and a black SUV. Both left the area in an unknown direction.

The department said the shooting was not random and that there is no ongoing danger to the community. The investigation is active.
